Deco Ensemble announces its long-awaited return, releasing a unique album comprising twelve carefully chosen compositions of noted composers from the old and current Tango Nuevo scene. ‘Líquido’ encapsulates the fluidity with which these pieces combine Argentinian tango influences with classical and jazz.
Record is going to be released on 6th September 2019 on RecArt label. The album showcases a rare set of pieces, “The Devil Tangos” written by the world's foremost composer of tango music, Astor Piazzolla, as well as one of his most significant tangos, “Triunfal”. Leading the way in the contemporary tango scene and continuing Piazzolla’s legacy, Ramiro Gallo and Emiliano Greco are considered two of the most influential composers of his generation and his tangos are most delightful and refined. Schissi’s original and innovative style is best embodied in his intoxicating “Líquido 3”. And last but certainly not least, Ricardo Gosalbo’s three compositions written especially for this project are the cherry on top of this deftly-produced album.
Released on 9th July 2015 at Purcell Room - Southbank Centre in London
Deco Ensemble’s debut album, entitled Encuentro, is a significant addition to the Nuevo Tango canon. The album derives its name from the Argentinian composer Gustavo Beytelmann’s composition, which translates as ‘encounter’. Rich in poignant harmonies, bold rhythms and elaborate ornamentations, the album features works
by some of the foremost tango composers.
